Don Anders was born in Edinburgh, Scotland so long ago that everything was black and white. Son of a paper merchant and a nurse, he attended his local village primary school before moving on to one of the city’s venerable public schools where he spectacularly failed to live up to his sibling's academic success.

 

Leaving school at 16 with a handful of ‘O’ levels, he pursued a career in the motor-trade. Despite the occasional attempt to escape the automotive business, it was only within the past few years that he discovered a hidden talent that saw him take a sharp turn into the creative design business. This new-found freedom also led him towards developing the idea of Tommy the Truck – a seed that had been planted for a while.

Don now splits his time between his seaside residence in the south of England, and his family's home in Sarasota FL.

 

Don’s aim is to see Tommy and his cohorts achieve at least a little bit of recognition, and to leave kids everywhere with happy childhood memories that they might just look back on in years to come.
